Ukrainians do use his name quite a bit in swearing. But in a special kind of way. There are plenty of words like “evil” (злий, zlyi) , “sly” (лукавий, lukavyi), “filthy” (нечистий, nechystyi), “damned” (клятий, kliatyi) to say his name without saying his name.
Reason is.. well, mostly fear.
And also , just sheer creativity.

But today we’re gonna focus on three of such words: “bis” ( біс), “chort” (чорт) and did’ko (дідько) . They are (practically) interchangeable, but there are still some differences.
After all, devil is in the details.
1 ) дідько – did’ko
means: fuck, shit, damn
pronounce: did as in did , or deed , + 2nd “ d ” is softer because of soft sign so it’s closer to soft “t” + co h as in co mpose

This works as your basic go-to swearing to share frustration about something/someone – rather up in the sky then into someone’s face.
Examples :
The bus just left! Дідько! Did’ko!
*(can be substituted for чорт – chort – cho as in cho p +rt (kinda like you’d say chorlt on but without “L” in between).
2 ) дідька лисого – did’ka lysoho –
means: (there is) no fucking way
pronounce: did as in did , or deed , + 2nd “ d ” is softer because of soft sign so it’s closer to soft “t” + ca h as in car

Дідька лисого я тобі це віддам! – Did’ka lysoho I’m gonna give it to you? = There is no fucking way in hell I’m gonna give it to you !

3 ) до дідька – do did’ka
means: to the fuck (to the hell) with this
pronounce: doh as in dou gh + did as in did , or deed , + 2nd “ d ” is softer because of soft sign so it’s closer to soft “t” + ca h as in car

**It can also be used as a rude way to say “hella lot” .
Example:
думаєш шо до біса розумний? dumayesh sho do bisa rozumnyi? you think you’re hella lot smartass or what?
***Can also be used to say “go to hell” in the face of someone who really pissed you off
Іди до біса! (or Іди до дідька! ) Idy to bisa/Idy do did’ka)

4 ) якого дідька – yakoho did’ka
means: what a fuck, why, what for , why in hell
pronounce: ya as in yu mmy or ya kuza + co h as in co mpose + ho like in Spanish pende jo + did as in did , or deed , + 2nd “ d ” is softer because of soft sign so it’s closer to soft “t” + ca h as in car
Can be used to express frustration , shouting in the sky and also throwing into the face of someone who pissed you off. Both works.
